Here I am with our dog, Sølvi, beside a Cuipo tree on our property in Panama. The Cuipo tree is a part of our small reforestation project. We have planted twenty of them, and they grow 30-40 meters tall. The Cuipo is among the emergent layer trees in a rain forest. In addition we have planted other rain forest trees, and in a few years we will have a healthy rain forest here. 1% of our Photo Tour sales in 2016 will go directly to our reforestation project. That said, I encourage you to start your own small reforestation project in the area where you live. After a few years you can say to yourself: “At least I did something”. American Crocodile at Coiba Island (national park), Pacific coast, Panama. This huge crocodile have had its territory in a bay on the island for over twenty years, and the national park rangers from ANAM have given him the name Tito. He is probably more than 30 years old. Black Vultures at sunrise, Isla de Coiba, Panama. You don’t always have to use the long lens to photograph wildlife. Very often, I use a wide-angle lens and try to include the wildlife in the landscape and the environment they live in. So is it landscape- or wildlife photography? Nature has no clear definitions and borders, so I choose to call it a more complete nature photography. |
