CLOUD FOREST!
Photo Tour to the Highlands!

On day one we drive early in the morning from Panama City to the highlands in the western part of Panama, not so far from the Costa Rica border. Our base will be in comfortable cabins in the cloudforest at 2300 meter with a fresh climate and surrounded with lush nature inside La Amistad National Park.
BIRDS
We will look for and photograph the beautiful and mystical Resplendent Quetzal, also considered the most beautiful bird in the world. At this time of year the acitivity is very high, and the resplendent quetzal is visible near the cabin and in the cloudforest.
We will also be surrounded by lots of hummingbirds and other beautiful birds too. Some of the birds are black-thighed grosbeak, violet sabrewing, three-wattled bellbird, flame-colored tanager, green violet-ear, specled tanager, rose-breasted grosbeak, collared redstart, blue crowned motmot, golden-browed chlorophonia, large-footed finch, yellow-thighed finch, and blue-throated toucanet to mention a few.
MAMMALS
In the forest there are animals like jaguar, tapir, puma, kinkajou, mountain squirrel, and cacomistle to mention a few. Many of them are very shy, but very often we see their footprints.
MACRO AND NATURE AS ART
There are also a lot of opportunities for macro photography of flowers and other details in the cloudforest. One of the most beautiful flowers in the area is the heliconia.There are also many opportunities to interpret nature as art.
LANDSCAPES
There will be opportunities to take pictures of forestscapes and landscapes. The highest mountain in Panama, Volcan Baru, 3475 m, is in the area.
THE CABINS
In the evenings you can relax inside the cabins in front of the warm stove with a glass of wine or beer, and there will also be time for photo editing sessions for those who also bring a laptop.
We will make all meals in the cabin.
We have internet connection in the cabin so you can stay in touch with the outside world.
You will have your own private bedroom in the cabin.
CLIMATE
The climate in this area is around 15-20 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and at nighttime it can drop down to 5-6 degrees Celsius.
DAY TRIPS
There will be easy hikes in the near surroundings everyday, and there are also great possibilities for various types of photography near the cabins.
You are guided through the vast biodiversity as we allow ample opportunity for photography. We have organized everything for you, and we will guide you so the only thing you need to concentrate on is to take pictures and enjoy your tour.

3750 USD pr. participant (on tours with only one participant add 50% to the price)
Payment terms: The fee must be paid 6 weeks before the tour. If you cancel your participation in the tour later than 2 weeks before the tour, only 70% of the total amount will be refunded.

Accommodations, transportation by car, food, drinks, snacks, and refreshments (3 meals a day), national park fees, and guiding.
Not included:
International air travel.

PRACTICAL
On day one we pick you up at you preferred hotel in Panama City (we recommend the www.albrookinn.com), and on the last day we drive you back to your preferred hotel in Panama City. We recommend you arrive in Panama one day ahead of the trip.
