Where?
Republic of Panama is in Central America. Costa Rica is the neighbour in the west, and and Colombia is in the east. Border lenghts: Colombia 339 km, Costa Rica 348 km. Panama has two coastlines, one to the north on the Caribbean side, and the other on the south side on the Pacific side. The total length of the coastlines are 2490 km. Panama is on eastern end of isthmus forming land bridge connecting North and South America. Panama City is the capital of Panama. The highest point is Volcan Baru, 3475 m. The Panama canal is 80 km long, and it is between Panama City and Colon.
The nature
Panama is a biological corridor between North America and South America. It serve as a passage route for migrant birds between the two continents.
Panama is home to 1010 different kinds of birds where roughly 750 of them are resident birds. Panama also has 255 types of mammals, 1200 fish species, 406 reptiles and amphibious species, a plethora of beautiful butterflies and an incredible plant life with more than 10,000 species!
The landscapes are beautiful and we have beaches, mountains, rainforests, cloudforests, islands, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, and even a desert! Infinite possibilities for nature photographers!
Panama has 42 national parks and nature reserves.
Inhabitants
There are around 3,7 mill. inhabitants in Panama.
Climate
Tropical climate. Rainy season May to December), dry season (December to May). In the rainy season we have normally short showers from 15 minutes to an hour. We can also have short rain showers in the dry season. After a shower it is more fresh, and in the rainy season there are more greenery.
Currency?
We use US dollars in Panama.

Fly directly to Tocumen International Airport, which is just outside Panama City.
