Øyvind Martinsen One of my favorite places is Altos de Campana national park in Panama. It has beautiful scenery, and I have spent many weeks in this area, getting more and more involved with the landscapes there. This is also one of the locations on our photo tours and workshops in Panama. If you are interested in our high-end workshops and tours, please contact us at [email protected] One of the animals I sometimes encounter in the rainforests of Panama is the White-nosed Coati. This is only one of the wild animals you can see and photograph on our photo tours in Panama. To see full tour program read more under Photo Tours and Workshops. Sarigua national park, Herrera province, Republic of Panama, February 2014. This Boa Constrictor had a bad day “at work”. It was overrun by a car, and found by Senor Senovio Vega (the man in the image) near the ANAM ranger station. Mr. Vega works as volunteer for ANAM, which is the national park authorities in Panama, and he is always our preferred helper in this area. Øyvind Martinsen Punta Chame, Pacific coast, Republic of Panama, March 20th, 2014. This morning I jumped in the car at 04.00 a.m. and drove to the Pacific coast to reach the sunrise and to work on coastal photography. Everywhere in the world we find plastic garbage floating around in the sea, and eventually, some of the garbage hits the shore. It is a big problem for the life in the seas, and on shore. On the image you can see the mess along with driftwood. There are many reasons for this problem. One problem are the lack of garbage handling systems in many countries, another is an attitude problem. People throw their garbage from their cars, boats, and houses in the nature. In the end we all have to pay for this attitude. It is said that our inner thoughts reflects our outer world, and vice verca. So you have to start with your own head, and attitude. Do not wait for the government to take action. (In most countries they don’t take action, from variable reasons.) Later I will arrange a cleanup on this beach, and you are welcome to join me. Do not throw more garbage in the nature! Øyvind Martinsen Join us on a coastal photo tour from August 25th to September 1st, 2014. Read more about the details under Photo Tours and Workshops. Maximum 4 participants. We have available space on our 13 days Photo Tour in Panama, from May 18th to 30th. This is a confirmed tour, and if you are interested contact us as soon as possible.
